Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in Longwood, FL. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fire detection systems, as well as monitoring these systems to ensure they're functioning properly at all times. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. The technician will work on various projects, ensuring that each system complies with fire codes and regulations.
As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will:
Identify fire alarm deficiencies. Possess knowledge of different types of panels and how to access systems for testing or service. Troubleshoot issues on panel to determine which part of the fire alarm system is in need of repair or replacement. Read and use a multi meter properly. Give proper customer service and communication with internal and external customers. Keep up with NICET certifications. Cover on-call hours for servicing customers, including nights and weekends on a rotating basis. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience for Fire or Electrical low voltage experience. Experience with Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with Siemens systems, EST, etc. Travel between customer sites daily Good communication and customer skills. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
Valid driver's license NICET certification preferred Fire Alarm System programming preferred BASA FASA certification within 30 days of hire. Familiar with Gamewell/FCI and Silent Knight (preferred) Familiar with NFPA codes and requirements Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Depending on the customer site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic) Ability to withstand heights and climb ladders comfortably.
