Examples of Duties Welcomes visitors and responds to inquiries. Answers incoming phone calls. Fills corn bags. Sells corn and staffs counter when visitor traffic is high. Monitors inventory of corn and bags and notifies supervisor when the supply is low. Receives sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife. Inputs wildlife admissions records into computer. Transfers animals to exam room. Assists with rehab animals in quarantine, isolation, and nursery. Socializes animals for programs and interacts with visitors. Monitors visitor behavior and polices restrooms. Completes wildlife admission cards neatly and accurately. Picks up litter in Observation, Rehabilitation, and Bird of Prey Trail areas. Sweeps spilled corn in Observation Building. Shovels snow. Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required Course work in basic computer skills desirable. Cash handling, recordkeeping, and customer service experience desirable.A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Some knowledge and skill in handling animals and proper customer service techniques. Skill and ability in cash handling. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to read and perform basic calculations. Ability to utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work the required hours of the position.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform the following activities: Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
