SUMMARY OF POSITION The Maintenance Technician works with all elements involved in maintaining the facility and equipment. This involves overseeing the health of all CNC machines and participating in TPM events. Provide detailed reports on all work orders, tracking and recording daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly and yearly inspections, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot systems and equipment such as Air systems, CNC machines, Manual machines, hand tools, material handling equipment and facility per documented schedule. Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly and yearly inspections for facility. Troubleshoot Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems as pertains to Machinery and Facilities. Performs office furniture, window, door, and hardware repairs. Performs general repairs and maintenance work in facility. Complete regular maintenance of outdoor areas, including landscaping tasks and snow removal of critical areas to ensure safety and accessibility. Provide proper record-keeping of repairs, maintenance tasks, and any inspections. Research and communicate with machine manufacturers for troubleshooting or technical support. Ensure compliance with 6S System. Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be: High school diploma or GED. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment. Working knowledge of MS Office and Basic computer skills (email, internet searching, printing, etc.) Proficient in the use of various hand tools and power tools (i.e., grinders, drills, sanders, taps & dies, impact wrenches, etc.). 6+ months of scheduling and report experience. Problem solving ability in a manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required. Able to read machine schematics and blueprints. Able to follow written and verbal instructions. Excellent Safety record and training. Able to foresee technical and machining problems in the manufacturing environment. Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary. Experience and proficiency in the following areas: General maintenance Electrical and electronic principles Commercial electricity and electronic principles Commercial pneumatics and hydraulics Knowledge of Microsoft office programs Preventative maintenance procedures Industrial electrical and industrial PC literacy SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday and would primarily be local during the business day. However, some projects may require overnight stays as well as out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business. WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions described here are representative of those that may be experienced by an employee daily while performing the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise level. May be required to work overtime or weekends to meet department and business demands. Will be working in the manufacturing plant, and therefore must be able to wear the necessary personal protective gear (PPE) for most, if not all, of the working day provided for individuals by the business. Most common PPE includes safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection. More specialized positions may require PPE specific to hard hats, gloves, face shield / helmet, fall protection, protective clothing, and powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR). Must be able to frequently walk & stand for short periods of time Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
