The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. This includes managing a significant donor base, overseeing a personal donor portfolio, and leading annual giving campaigns. The role also involves working closely with the CEO and other executives to support and execute capital campaigns, as well as directing the grant program and securing sponsorships for special events. The ideal candidate will be a strategic community connector, representing the organization in various capacities and maintaining relationships with business and civic leaders, donors, and event sponsors.

Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong planning and organizational abilities, and a proven track record in donor relations and fundraising. A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' experience in a similar role within a complex organization are preferred. The role requires a candidate with a clear understanding of how donor relations drive engagement and retention, and the ability to manage a donor database and budget effectively. The Chief Development Officer will be expected to work with a high level of initiative, manage sensitive data with integrity, and be adept at using Microsoft Office Suite. A background in nonprofit organizations and a history of successful fundraising activities with year-over-year growth are also desirable.
