About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its philanthropic efforts in the Southwest Gulf Coast region. The CDO will be a mission-driven leader, responsible for advancing the organization's impact in early learning, family engagement, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, with a focus on major gifts, capital campaigns, and endowment growth. The successful candidate will be tasked with stewarding the mission, building lasting donor relationships, and securing transformational investments to support the organization's vision of expanding access to programs and services that strengthen families and communities.
Key responsibilities for the CDO include strategic fundraising leadership, major gift and capital campaign management, and donor and community engagement. The role requires a minimum of 10 years' of progressive fundraising leadership in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts and leading capital campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of philanthropy in the region, established donor and community relationships, and expertise in donor cultivation and fundraising technology. The CDO will also be responsible for team leadership, organizational leadership, and ensuring operational excellence in fundraising activities.
