Join our team as a Kennel Tech, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in a medical setting. JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides compassionate care to animals in a clinical environment, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Assists veterinary staff with handling and restraining animals during exams and procedures. Feeds and provides water to animals according to medical schedules and dietary needs. Cleans and sanitizes exam rooms, kennels, surgical areas, and equipment to maintain a safe and sterile environment. Monitors animals for signs of illness or distress, reporting health or behavioral concerns to veterinary staff. Maintains accurate animal records in the Chameleon database, updating medical histories and treatment plans. Launders bedding, towels, and supplies to ensure hygiene and comfort for recovering animals. Transports animals to and from medical appointments, rescue organizations, and emergency clinics, including lifting and carrying animals up to 50 pounds. Assists customers in locating and retrieving their pets, providing guidance on post-care instructions as needed. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED equivalent Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License Knowledge of humane animal handling, restraint techniques, and basic medical care procedures Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Willingness to learn safety procedures for handling injured or aggressive animals Physical ability to lift and handle animals up to 50 pounds and perform all required tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
