We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our Lending Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending approval of loan applications for individuals and businesses, while delivering exceptional member service. This position works under the general supervision of the Loan Manager. Key Responsibilities: Interview loan applicants to gather financial information and determine creditworthiness. Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans. Approve loans within specified limits or refer applications to management for approval. Explain different types of loans and credit options to members, along with the terms of those services. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations and internal policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation of loan applications and approvals as well as title work. Build and maintain strong relationships with members and promote credit union products and services. Skills and Abilities: Strong time management and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with staff, agencies, and the public. Ability to lift moderately heavy materials such as forms, boxes, and records. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in consumer or mortgage lending, preferably in a credit union or banking environment. Strong knowledge of lending products, practices, and regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Proficiency in loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
