CornerStone Staffing has partnered with a Tax Consulting firm in their search for a Tax Director to lead their Family Office division. This firm specializes in serving high net-worth, high-profile clients, and is known for delivering exceptional financial and advisory services, including tax strategy, accounting, tour management, and long-term wealth preservation. This is a leadership opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and has a deep understanding of high net-worth tax planning. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing a highly skilled tax team while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, planning, and strategy development for complex individual and entity returns. ________________________________________ Position Summary The Tax Director will oversee the preparation and review of complex tax filings for high net-worth individuals and related entities. This role involves driving process improvements, ensuring policy compliance, and mentoring tax staff. The Director will collaborate closely with other departments to deliver cohesive financial solutions to clients. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Review and manage complex tax returns including Corporations, Partnerships, and Individual filings. • Lead quality control for financial statement preparation and final review. • Oversee international tax matters, including waivers and compliance filings. • Manage estimated tax payment processes and ensure timely submissions. • Maintain and enforce financial and tax reporting policies and procedures. • Lead year-end shareholder bonus processes and associated tax compliance. • Supervise the preparation of tax work papers, investment reconciliations, W-2s, 1099s, and payroll tax filings. • Prepare and review tax correspondence; manage and represent clients in tax audits. • Direct entity creation and dissolution efforts, including compliance with relevant documentation. • Provide training and mentorship to Accounting Managers and Staff Accountants. • Review and approve invoices for tax services rendered. • Oversee all tax team members within the Family Office practice. ________________________________________ Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MAcc or Master’s in Taxation preferred. • Active CPA license in California or Tennessee required. • 10–15+ years of tax experience, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. • Prior experience in a business management firm or public accounting firm serving high net-worth individuals. • Expertise in reviewing diverse tax returns and financial statements. • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and modern tax software systems. • Experience in the entertainment industry or working with high-profile clients is a strong plus. • Ability to work on-site as needed and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
