As a Progressive Header Machine Operator, you will: Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Progressive Header Machine Operator to independently set up, operate, and maintain complex progressive header machines. This role involves precision forming, shaping, cutting, and piercing of metal wire and bar stock to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize machine performance. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate single/multiple blow and die progressive header machines to tight tolerances (± .0007). Interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation to plan machining sequences. Load and secure wire/bar stock, verify feed positions, and select optimal machine settings. Perform tooling fabrication and operate additional machine tools as needed. Conduct in-process inspections using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Maintain accurate production logs and documentation using software or worksheets. Apply SPC techniques to monitor and control process quality. Troubleshoot machine issues and perform necessary repairs or rework. Collaborate with team members to improve productivity and quality. Train peers on machine setup, operation, and company procedures. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience operating progressive header machines. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and documentation. Skilled in using precision measuring tools and SPC techniques. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. This is fulltime, contract to hire opportunity.
