Position Description Job Summary: The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of construction equipment, tools, and materials to and from Penhall job sites. This role requires a valid CDL license, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting field crews. Drivers are expected to perform routine vehicle inspections, follow all DOT regulations, and maintain clear communication with dispatch and operations. This position plays a key role in keeping projects on schedule and supporting overall job site operations. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate CDL-class commercial vehicles to transport equipment and materials between Penhall yards and customer job sites. Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and field supervisors regarding job site locations and schedules. Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle. Work collaboratively with field crews and support overall job efficiency. Follow all Penhall Company safety protocols and traffic regulations. Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Be available to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and out-of-town assignments as needed. Position Requirements Required Skills and Abilities: Proven experience operating CDL vehicles and understanding of DOT safety regulations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable, dependable, and safety-focused. Mechanically inclined with basic maintenance knowledge a plus. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 2 years of verifiable CDL driving experience required. Experience transporting heavy equipment preferred. Physical and Additional Requirements: • Regular field visits to job sites with exposure to weather and construction environments. • Ability to walk, stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to sit for long periods of time. • May require flexible hours, travel, and on-call availability based on operational needs.
