Mill programmer Onsite- San Jose, CA Pay Range $30 to $40 hourly DOE A Mill Programmer at ************ is responsible for developing, testing, and refining CNC programs for various milling operations, particularly for horizontal and 5-axis machines. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to translate design specifications into efficient and high-quality machining operations. Key responsibilities CNC Programming: Create and refine CNC toolpaths using software like Mastercam for horizontal and 5-axis mills. Interpretation & Application: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to translate design intent into effective CNC programs and ensure tight tolerances. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines to validate programs and support production Collaboration: Work with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes. Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a technical lead, potentially mentoring junior machinists and directing other machinists on the shop floor. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Support the development and introduction of new products. Experience and educational requirements A Mill Programmer at ************ is typically required to have extensive CNC programming and overall machinist experience, with a focus on horizontal and 5-axis mills. Proficiency in Mastercam software is essential, along with a strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM integration.
