Sr Power BI Developer, with Asset Mgmt or Trading experience

Role : Sr Power BI Developer with Trading, or Asset Mgmt Exp rate : Depends on Experience Location : NYC Onsite Position: in NYC Sr Power BI Developer: with Hedge Funds, or Asset Management or Trading Environments: Proven expertise in Power BI: Advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and complex data modelling. Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure cloud data warehouses. Experience with financial market data, trading systems, and portfolio/risk reporting (preferred but not necessary) Strong knowledge of BI architectures, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), and real-time data integration. Experience embedding AI/ML models into BI environments for predictive analytics and signal detection. 7+ years in BI/Analytics roles, preferably in hedge funds, asset management, or trading environments. Duration: 6-12 Months Rate: DOE We are seeking a senior Power BI consultant to work closely with our Portfolio Analytics team to review and enhance our existing reporting architecture and deliver high-performance, real-time dashboards. This role requires deep expertise in Power BI, advanced data modelling, and AI-driven analytics. The consultant will ensure our visualization layer is scalable, performant, and capable of integrating complex market and portfolio data for actionable insight. Responsibilities: Architecture Review & Optimization: Assess and refine current Power BI models, data flows, and architecture for speed, scalability, and maintainability. Front Office Dashboards: Design and develop high-impact visualizations for portfolio performance, P&L, risk, and market analytics. Real-Time Data Integration: Recommend and implement architectures for real-time or low-latency reporting using DirectQuery, streaming datasets, or hybrid models. AI-Enhanced Insights: Integrate predictive models, anomaly detection, and natural language Q&A to deliver intelligent decision support for PMs and traders. Data Modeling & Schema Design: Build optimized schemas to handle complex, multi-source financial datasets. Collaboration: Work closely with Analytics team, Portfolio managers and data engineers to align dashboards with trading and investment workflows. Best Practices & Training: Provide guidance to internal teams to maintain performance and adaptability.
