Position Description Job Summary: The GPR Analyst is responsible for performing nondestructive testing services using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other scanning technologies to identify embedded objects in concrete or subsurface materials. This position plays a critical role in providing accurate and timely scanning results to support safe construction and cutting operations. The GPR Analyst ensures all field work is performed in accordance with safety standards, client expectations, and company protocols. Duties and Responsibilities: • Operate GPR equipment to perform scanning services on commercial, industrial, and infrastructure job sites. • Analyze scan data in real-time to locate rebar, conduits, post-tension cables, and voids in concrete or underground. • Locating underground utilities. • Travel for training and service support. • Accurately mark scanned areas in accordance with Penhall’s Standard Marking Protocol. • Complete thorough field documentation, including field reports, sketches, and photos. • Obtain required client signatures and ensure all service tickets are completed accurately and in a timely manner. • Communicate clearly with customers to explain results, safety considerations, and next steps. • Perform pre- and post-job inspections of equipment, and report any malfunctions. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times. • Attend all required branch safety meetings and training sessions. • Check in daily with dispatch or supervisor to receive and confirm job assignments. • Transport and properly secure all tools and equipment necessary for daily field operations. • Assist in training new analysts when needed. • Other duties as assigned by your manager. Position Requirements Required Skills and Abilities: • Ability to interpret GPR scan results accurately in the field • Strong problem-solving skills and situational awareness • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate field records • Comfortable using handheld tools, ladders, and navigating active job sites • Capable of working independently and in small teams • Familiarity with smartphone apps and digital documentation • Knowledge of safety practices in construction or industrial environments Essential Core Competencies: • Technical Accuracy: Delivers precise readings and interpretations of subsurface materials • Customer Focus: Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when interacting with clients • Accountability: Follows standard procedures and completes assignments reliably • Safety Conscious: Follows all safety procedures and proactively identifies risks • Adaptability: Adjusts to different job environments and client needs quickly • Time Management: Arrives on time and completes jobs efficiently • Teamwork: Supports peers and contributes to a collaborative work culture • Communication: Clearly shares job information with team members and clients Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required • Technical training in GPR, NDT, or construction scanning preferred • Prior experience with GPR, X-ray, utility locating or concrete scanning services a plus • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred (can be obtained upon hire) Physical and Additional Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling on job sites • Comfortable working in construction zones, both indoors and outdoors • Ability to drive to various job locations with equipment as needed Position Instructions Penhall Company has been shaping the future of concrete services for over 65 years.
