Assistant Lecturer/Associate Lecturer/ Lecturer - ASL

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Skidmore College invites applications for an Assistant Lecturer position in American Sign Language (ASL) for the Spring 2026 semester. The position involves teaching one section of ASL 101 in Spring 2026. Depending upon performance, enrollment, and departmental needs, it is possible that the successful candidate would be considered for a similar position for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching two courses of introductory ASL courses. Requirements include a minimum of an M.A. in language pedagogy, second-language acquisition, Deaf Studies, or a related field; native or near-native proficiency in ASL; excellent command of English; and demonstrated experience and commitment to ASL instruction at the college level in the U.S. The compensation for this position is $2507 per credit (courses are three or four credits).
