Complete 900 hours as a Half Time Member between September 1st, 2024 - August 31st, 2025
Job Summary : The Athletics Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing athletic programs and activities that promote physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship among youth participants in the organization. This role focuses on creating a positive and inclusive environment where youth can engage in organized sports and recreational activities.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate a variety of sports and fitness programs that cater to different age groups and skill levels. Ensure programs are inclusive, fun, and promote teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition. Serve as a positive role model, promoting good sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle choices. Maintain accurate records of program participation, attendance, and outcomes. Develop and execute strategies to increase member participation and engagement in organization activities, events, and programs. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during athletic activities. Maintain a clean and safe environment by inspecting equipment and facilities regularly. Enforce rules and guidelines to prevent injuries and accidents. Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of service High school diploma or equivalent required Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident. Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria pursuant to 45 CFR 2540.202. Passion for working with youth Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings Time Requirement:
Complete 900 hours during the time of service Participate in mandatory days of service Complete hours during direct service hours at designated site (i.e. after-school hours, no school days (if applicable), special events, family engagement activities, etc.) Benefits:
Living allowance provided on a bi-weekly basis, $15,300 yearly gross pay. AmeriCorps Segal Education Award upon successful completion of the program equal to $3,697.50 Flexible Schedule Training and professional development opportunities. Student Loan Forbearance, if applicable. Opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community and gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector.
