Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Safely and efficiently performs a variety of duties within PBV’s warehouse operations to support both internal and external customers and meet business goals and demands. Duties include pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, performing quality control checks, dumping, rework, replenishing, and otherwise handling of PBV products, raw materials, packaging, and other warehouse goods and materials.

The exact nature of duties may vary, depending on the facility where the Warehouse Associate is employed.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies accuracy and quality of products received from vendors/suppliers and shipped to customers.
  • Performs all check-in/check-out duties and maintains proper records (BOLs, receivers, pick tickets, and other record keeping) per warehouse SOPs.
  • Counts goods returned to the plant by sales and delivery personnel that are damaged, full, and/or empty.
  • Safely and efficiently operates the yard switcher and automatic/straight trucks to access bay doors for loading/unloading.
  • Interacts with automation systems and screens, voice pick system, paper pick tickets and/or other warehouse management systems to verify and record product and build/verify pallets for correct load-outs and inventory counts.
  • Identifies machine faults, troubleshoots, corrects system errors, and performs basic cleaning/maintenance on automation systems.
  • Safely and efficiently operates various warehouse material handling equipment to store, stage, retrieve, replenish, load or unload product and materials.
  • Operates other warehouse machinery (e.g., floor scrubber, cardboard baler, dock plates, bay doors) as designated.
  • Performs required safety and pre-trip checks on assigned machinery.
  • Performs janitorial tasks as necessary to maintain a clean and organized space.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass forklift skills assessment and safely operate PBV Material Handling Equipment.
  • At least six (6) months of forklift experience preferred.
  • Computer/HMI skills; mechanical aptitude.
  • Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Sorting and grouping skills; ability to read product labels and load ticket instructions.
  • Must be able to count large quantities of products and materials.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to hot/humid or cold conditions.

Physical and Mental Functions

Essentials Mental and physical functions: Repetitive and fast-paced work for prolonged periods requiring frequent mental or visual effort or alertness. Constantly (67%-100%) required to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional (0%-33%) required to sit, read, climb, reach, kneel, bend, push, crawl, walk, and stand.

Equipment Used

Yard switcher, tractors & trailers, dock plates, bay doors, floor scrubber, walkie-rider, forklift (single and double), palletizer, wrapper, HSPA Claw, cardboard baler, automated conveyors, and related office and safety equipment.

Workplace Details

Language: Must be able to speak, read and write proficient English. No visa sponsorships available.
