Job Summary

The Business Data Analyst will serve as a crucial bridge between our technical data resources and our business stakeholders. You will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results, and providing ongoing reports and dashboards. You will work closely with teams across the company (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product, Finance) to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, turning data into a compelling narrative that informs critical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Insight Generation:
  • Work with stakeholders to define key business questions and translate them into data analysis and requirements.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and actionable insights.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis to explain root causes of business performance changes (e.g., customer churn, shifts in conversion rates, changes in user engagement).
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Reporting & Visualization:
  • Design, build, and maintain intuitive and effective dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar BI tools.
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and data accessibility for business users.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in all reporting.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
  • Partner with business units (Marketing, Sales, Product, Operations) to understand their goals and data needs.
  • Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, visualizations, and written summaries.
  • Tell stories with data to influence strategy and drive business action.
• Data Management & Governance:
  • Write efficient and complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to define and improve data models and pipelines for analytics.
  • Advocate for data quality and help document key metrics and definitions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a business data analyst or similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis (essential).
• High proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Strong experience working with data warehouses and relational databases (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, SQL Server).
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to a business audience.
