Overview
The Delivery Driver plays a pivotal role in the success of our business. They are the main point of contact with our customers and are responsible for fostering strong client relationships. Parts Authority is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment and transmissions. Parts Authority, founded in 1973, is a growing company with multiple locations and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness, accurate charges, and customer satisfaction.
- Take and follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to routes and schedules, use navigation apps, and know the area to deliver on time.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with customer operations.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns.
- Abide by transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile cash and monies related to deliveries when applicable.
- Complete daily vehicle maintenance checks and notify management of any issues.
- Assist with other store/warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling) as assigned.
- Maintain and promote workplace safety and secure cash or other assets when required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over)
- Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy
- Ability to lift/move/push/pull up to 50 pounds (75 pounds for Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage, track and reconcile money transactions and balances
- Ability to use a tablet/mobile device for navigation, routing, tracking and signature capture
- Excellent customer and verbal communication skills, professional and tactful
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
- Flexible schedule with overtime as needed (preferred)
- Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
