We are looking for a Bulk Chemical Delivery Driver, a local delivery driver, to add to our service team. We operate a 52,000 lb chassis equipped with a 26-foot box truck and a liftgate and trailers. We offer the delivery of bulk chemicals to our commercial swimming pool customers within a specific territory. This position works in our warehouse helping stage pool service, construction, and renovation projects when not operating the truck. This is an opportunity to drive and stay local without being on the same route every day. When delivering, you will pick orders according to the delivery tickets, verify your load for accuracy, assist with route planning, load and unload cargo, perform pre-trip inspections, arrange for general maintenance and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle. You must be able to comply with all safe work practices and procedures. When not delivering duties in our warehouse will include packing, shipping and receiving, loading and unloading product, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness, or other duties as assigned.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm, start and end times may vary with workload and delivery destinations, overtime required during busy season which is usually May through August.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely delivery of bulk chemicals to customer sites
  • Complete daily delivery route schedule
  • Perform pre-trip and routine inspections, report any maintenance needs of the truck
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, Hazmat and other regulatory requirements of the job
  • Assist in warehouse as needed

Experience/Requirements/Preferences

  • CDL-Class A with Hazmat endorsement is required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • At least 6 months prior experience driving a truck is required
  • Clean driving record. No speeding tickets, DWI, DUI or any other traffic related incidents in the last 7 years
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire DOT drug test and random DOT drug tests
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
  • Able to lift over 75 lbs
  • Knowledge of applicable traffic laws and DOT regulations is required
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and lift gate
  • Ability to utilize technology like tablets, smartphones, and cloud-based apps
  • Basic knowledge of chemicals is appreciated but not necessary
  • Basic knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a pool is a plus
  • Must be able to work in and out of heat, cold and all types of weather conditions

Physical Requirements

To operate as a chemical delivery driver for Landmark Aquatics, candidates must meet FMCSA physical qualification standards as well as additional job-specific physical capabilities required for handling hazardous materials and performing delivery tasks. These requirements ensure the driver can safely operate a CMV, manage chemical loads, and maintain public and personal safety.

  • General Health and Physical Fitness
  • Endurance: able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
  • Strength and Stamina: capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering chemical containers weighing up to 50-70 pounds repeatedly
  • Vision, Hearing, and Cognitive Function: standard DOT physical requirements for safe operation
  • Balance, Mobility, and Coordination: ability to move safely during loading/unloading and while driving
  • Medical considerations: blood pressure, cardiovascular health, respiratory function, and absence of conditions that would impede safe operation
  • Specific Job-Related: ability to load, unload, and transport corrosive or hazardous materials; operate the company’s delivery trucks; exposure to environmental conditions; ability to respond to spills or leaks
  • DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate: must pass a DOT physical every 24 months (or as required); MEC valid for up to 24 months

Additional Notes For Landmark Aquatics Drivers

  • Training: Drivers must complete hazmat transportation training per 49 CFR 172.700-704, including security awareness and emergency response procedures specific to Landmark Aquatics’ chemical products
  • Disqualifications: Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, significant vision/hearing loss without correction, or limb loss without an SPE may disqualify a candidate unless mitigated and approved
  • Monitoring: Drivers with conditions like diabetes, sleep apnea, or hypertension may require extra documentation and could receive shorter certification periods
