Overview

Staples Delivery Driver role at TieTalent. Part-time position scheduled 5:00am-11:00am, Monday-Friday.

What you’ll be doing

As a Delivery Driver, you will transport products safely and deliver office supplies on your assigned route to customers. You may load your truck when volume requires it. Safety is a priority; you will ensure safe work practices and foster Staples’ safety culture. You will organize and load product for delivery using the manifest to assure the most efficient route and schedule. You will be a problem solver for our customers, providing support, accepting product returns, and empowering to make customers’ day. You are our brand on wheels. You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.

What you bring to the table

• An ability to be a safe and courteous driver who can navigate a map and all kinds of weather and road conditions.
• An ability to make sound decisions related to driving, parking, safety, and customer interaction.
• An inclusive approach to colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues.
• An ability to use technology including GPS and mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices.
• An ability and willingness to maintain cleanliness of vehicle including performing pre-trip vehicle inspections and reporting maintenance concerns.

What’s needed — Basic Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history acceptable to the company and remain eligible to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable laws and regulations.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen where legally permissible.
• Must obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
• Full-Time associates must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; overtime may be required based on business need.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, push and pull items up to 400 lbs with assistance, and occasionally maneuver up to 130 lbs.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

What’s needed — Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1-year of truck driving experience (operating a 16 ft or longer straight truck) or comparable driving experience.
• High-volume package delivery experience.
