Marine Hydraulics International, LLC is hiring: Electrician/Building Maintenance

MHI Ship Repair & Services is a major marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration and Commercial ship owners and operators worldwide. Our shipyard is conveniently located in the Mid-Atlantic region at the port of Hampton Roads, Norfolk Virginia.

MHI has an immediate opening for a an experienced Electrician/Building Maintenance Technician to perform various maintenance and repair tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Completes daily assignments as directed by the Facilities Lead person, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and vehicle servicing.
• Lays out job tasks and procure all necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensures all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Delegates tasks to other employees as needed to complete assignments efficiently.
• Operates forklifts, manlifts, Jon Boat, and other rental equipment as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Must have 3-5 years of Electrical/Building Maintenance exp.
• Journeyman Electrician License preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in electrical work and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, plumbing, and structural components.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and manlifts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
