Job Overview

THAW seeks to lead and direct the HR function in partnership with the leadership team to execute the organization2s goals and objectives. Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, employee and union relations, HRIS/payroll processing, benefit and compensation administration, performance management, supervisory training, policy creation and implementation, HR vendor management, compliance, audit and safety coordination.
Essential Functions
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization2s human resource and talent strategy related to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support HR compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers HR programs including, but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends using HRIS data and reports.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive pay programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs providing internal opportunities for employees.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and updates policies to maintain compliance.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law.
- Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor2s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master2s degree preferred.
- At least seven years of progressive HR management experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
- Relevant experience in nonprofit, human services, or utilities industry a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Some local travel may be required. The employee must have reliable transportation with applicable auto insurance and a valid driver2s license if driving on company business.
