Job Summary

Kobrick Coffee Co.'s NYC Meatpacking District Flagship Cafe, Restaurant, & Bar (established in 1920, now roasting in Hoboken, NJ) is seeking both full-time and part-time dedicated Baristas to join us at our unique 9th Avenue & 13th Street venue. We've been a neighborhood favorite since 2015.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide array of masterful coffee-based and popular beverages, served with warmth and hospitality, praised by our loyal customers. Our menu includes well-known and proprietary offerings. We seek enthusiastic individuals with a passion for craft coffee to help our team excel in this artsy, upscale neighborhood.

Ideal candidates are experienced, innovative, team players, passionate about artisanal craft, optimistic, artistic, respectful, trustworthy, and organized. A focus on cleanliness and continuous improvement is essential. We welcome culinary students eager to develop their skills.

Responsibilities:

• Execute all beverages accurately, including special requests.
• Prioritize customer experience and satisfaction.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Meet or exceed standards for quality and latte art.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Assist team members as needed.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies.
• Ensure all areas are clean and safe for customers and staff.
• Follow food safety regulations meticulously.
• Keep workspace immaculate.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping and inventory controls.
• Handle cash and manage opening/closing responsibilities responsibly.
• Balance customer demands with company policies and teamwork.
• Contribute positively to team spirit and company culture.
• Knowledge of Square POS is helpful.
• Participate in training sessions and skill enhancement activities.
• Be punctual, professional, and disciplined.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous barista experience, especially in high-end venues with manual espresso machines.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Advanced skills in milk steaming, dialing in, latte art, and espresso machine maintenance.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Strong time management and leadership skills.
• Team-oriented work ethic.
• Punctuality.
• Multilingual or ASL skills are a plus.
• First-Aid certification is valued.
• NYC DOH Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain it within one month.
• Culinary certification is preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
