Overview
The Tesla Camera Team designs and integrates camera modules and cleaning solutions across all Tesla vehicle platforms. The team combines mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a collaborative environment. We seek talented Mechanical Design Engineers to help realize this vision, emphasizing creative problem-solving and technical rigor.
Responsibilities
- Support the integration and performance of sensor cleaning systems for cameras on autonomous and electric vehicles.
- Design and validate cleaning components (nozzles, air jets, wipers) for ADAS sensors and develop innovative mechanisms to meet Autopilot requirements.
- Collaborate with Autopilot, electrical, and body engineering teams.
- Develop system-level integration with sensor housings, create specifications, and design accelerated test plans for product validation.
- Investigate and validate cleaning technologies on fleet vehicles.
- Fabricate prototypes, iterate designs, and advance concepts to volume production.
- Manage suppliers to ensure project execution according to specifications and timelines.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in automotive ADAS or cleaning system development.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and validating automotive cleaning technologies.
- Ability to present, document, and educate others about cleaning performance, integration, and serviceability.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (preferably CATIA).
- Experience with engineering drawings and tolerance analysis (GD&T is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Expected compensation ranges from $106,400 to $256,200 annually, plus stock awards and benefits. Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
