Job Details - North Carolina Nursing Jobs Location: Monroe, NC (zip 28112) Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 - End: 12/20/2025) Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:00), 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 - $1,680 per week Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract Scrub Color: Navy Free Parking Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Tele RN experience BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification (Resource Team requirement) Strong PCU nursing skills: stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps Experience with critical care drips: Insulin, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Heparin, blood products Ability to float to other healthcare facilities within the region EPIC EMR experience preferred PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care for stroke, heart failure, chest pain, respiratory illnesses, GI disorders, liver failure, and kidney disease Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes promptly Administer and manage critical care drips and blood products Perform trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, and manage drains/tubes Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams: CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists Float to other nursing units or healthcare facilities as needed Document patient care and interventions accurately using EPIC EMR Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training Apply now to join our healthcare team as a PCU Registered Nurse in Monroe, North Carolina and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
