Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer
Salary: $100-$200k plus bonus and excellent benefits

TEC is recruiting for a Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for a local growing bank. The CAO is a key member of the Banks senior leadership team, responsible for directing all accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, and regulatory compliance functions while partnering closely with the EVP & COO and the existing finance team. The CAO will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy, driving process improvements, and providing the data, analysis, and insight needed to support strategic decision-making. This leader will be integral to the Banks budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, and will excel at operating within complex and evolving business structures, including holding company environments, multi-entity organizations, and strategic corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly data-driven, technologically fluent, and adept at translating complex financial data into clear, actionable strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Oversee regulatory reporting (Call Reports, tax filings, state submissions) to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling processes, leveraging financial planning tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Partner on funding strategies, liquidity management, and capital optimization
- Oversee compliance-related financial functions and support regulatory examinations
- Utilize business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to enhance reporting and decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
- Collaborate with the finance team and cross-functional leaders to ensure cohesive decision-making
Qualifications:
- CPA strongly preferred; solid accounting background is critical; Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership in banking or financial services
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, banking regulations, compliance, and financial reporting
- Proven FP&A skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; experience with budgeting and ALM software platforms preferred
- Proficiency in data analytics and BI tools; SQL/Snowflake experience a plus
- Preferred: Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm experience with financial institutions
