Overview

The Value Stream Supervisor will report to the Shared Services Value Stream Manager and play a vital role in optimizing the operations and performance of the composite manufacturing value stream. This role serves as a link between the production team, engineering, quality control, and management to streamline the manufacturing process, drive continuous improvement, and maximize customer value. The Value Stream Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Shared Services Value Stream Manager and collaborate to align goals, objectives, and strategies for the value stream.
  • Oversee and supervise the operations of the value stream, ensuring smooth flow of materials, resources, and information throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities of the value streams production team to achieve production targets and meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy of ERP system configuration (Bill of Materials, Routers, Labor Tracking, Daily Balancing, and Quality Records) in partnership with the VSM.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to optimize operational efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Monitor KPIs to assess value stream performance, identify improvements, and address issues or bottlenecks.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, fostering problem-solving, employee engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance technical competencies and ensure a capable workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards within the value stream.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain to optimize performance and resolve interdepartmental issues.
  • Assist in the execution of Standard Work and development of SOPs for related processes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with minimal supervision to attain results and process enhancements.
  • Assist in evaluating root cause analyses and documenting countermeasures.
  • Develop relationships across value streams, shops, and sites to maximize resource use and expertise.
  • Foster ownership and accountability within the team.
  • Work with the VSM to ensure the team is trained, resourced, and managed to meet strategic objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to the VSM and report performance to executive management as needed.
  • Provide regular reports on value stream performance, progress, and improvement initiatives to the Operations Director and other stakeholders.

  • Proven success in fast-paced, technical manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on project management experience and ability to implement time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Results-driven with strong strategic thinking and adaptability to change.
  • Experience working in collaborative, multi-functional teams with measurable business outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and records.

Skills & Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, value stream mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify gaps, analyze data, and implement solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software and tools for data analysis, production planning, and performance tracking.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards in the composite manufacturing industry.
  • Leadership qualities to motivate and guide teams toward goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in composite manufacturing; prior supervisory or leadership role in manufacturing.

  • Pay Range: $60,000 $73,000 annually (includes shift differential)
  • Position Status: Full Time
