Position Description
The HRD is responsible for managing civilian HR personnel system management and IT requirements for a variety of DoD agencies and offices in the National Capital Region. The successful candidate will be tasked with applying technical expertise to review and process a wide range of personnel actions. This includes processing all Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) in accordance with OPM guidelines and ensuring their timely and accurate flow to the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS).
Qualifications for the position vary by GS level:
The position is open to current federal employees, veterans, military spouses, and individuals eligible under special authorities. U.S. citizenship is a requirement, and the selected individual must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. The role is also subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. While the position is not remote, it is telework eligible as determined by agency policy. Occasional travel of up to 20% may be required, and relocation and recruitment incentives may be authorized.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

Process all RPAs in DCPDs in accordance with the OPM Guide to Processing Personnel Actions and applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Review all processed personnel actions to ensure timely and accurate flow to DCPS.
Research guidelines and directives from higher echelons.
Make corrections to actions as required.
