About the Role:
The Information Systems Security Engineer will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization's information technology infrastructure by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures. This position is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop security policies, conduct security assessments, and respond to security incidents promptly. By continuously monitoring security systems and analyzing threat intelligence, the role aims to proactively protect sensitive data and maintain the integrity of information systems. Ultimately, this position ensures the resilience and confidentiality of the organization's digital assets in a dynamic threat landscape.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in information systems security or a related role.
Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms.
Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+.
Experience working in a government or defense-related environment.
Knowledge of cloud security principles and experience securing cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
Advanced skills in scripting or programming such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience with incident response and digital forensics.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain security protocols and procedures to protect information systems.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure security compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
Prepare detailed reports on security status, incidents, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
