Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 09/29/2025 Duration: 12 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Ultrasound Tech - RDMS Registered Location: 1400 Pelham Parkway South, Jacobi Medical Center Bronx NY 10461 Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (weekends included); flexibility to work 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM as needed; weekends/holidays required. Skills: 1 year General Registered Ultrasound experience. Education: Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required. BLS preferred. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our hospital-based imaging team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations across pediatrics, abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular studies, including emergency and critical cases. This role requires a professional who can work independently, demonstrate clinical expertise, and provide compassionate patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in areas including: OB/GYN: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester pregnancy studies; evaluation of early/late miscarriage; rule out ectopic pregnancy. Vascular: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) studies. Pediatrics: Pyloric stenosis, bowel intussusception, and other pediatric ultrasound procedures. Emergency Studies: Testicular and ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, and urgent DVT evaluations. General Ultrasound: Abdomen and related studies. Ensure accurate acquisition and documentation of imaging for interpretation by radiologists. Maintain equipment, prepare exam rooms, and follow hospital protocols for infection control and patient safety. Provide clear communication and compassionate care to patients and their families. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members in the delivery of timely diagnostic imaging. Qualifications: Certification: RDMS certification through ARDMS (required). Education: Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field (preferred). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience in a hospital setting (required). Skills: Proficiency in pediatric, OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular ultrasound studies; experience with emergency/critical cases. Other Requirements: BLS certification (preferred). Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled. Interview Process: In-person interviews only.
