About Our Client

Addison Group is partnering with a mission-driven global research organization that focuses on improving lives, restoring nature, and stabilizing the climate. Due to a recent departure on their benefits team, they are urgently seeking a Temporary HR Benefits Specialist to support their U.S. benefits program and implement process improvements.

Job Description

The Temporary HR Benefits Specialist will take ownership of U.S. benefits administration, serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, manage vendor relationships, and support the upcoming transition to Workday. This is an open-ended contract opportunity ideal for a seasoned benefits professional who can work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee U.S. benefits administration and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations

Manage data integrity and communication between HRIS (ADP/Workday), payroll, and vendors

Handle compliance-related tasks such as filings, reporting, and audits

Serve as the go-to expert for employee benefits questions and escalations

Develop and distribute employee communication materials

Support open enrollment planning and execution

Assist with the implementation and management of a 457(b) retirement plan

Identify areas for process improvement and implement benefits SOPs

Participate in global HR projects, including Workday implementation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

8+ years of benefits experience, preferably in a nonprofit or global NGO setting

Familiarity with 457(b) retirement plans (preferred but not required)

Experience with vendor management and employee leave administration

Proficiency in ADP; exposure to Workday is a plus

Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc.)

Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills

Proven ability to manage confidential information with professionalism

Process-oriented mindset with experience creating and implementing SOPs
