Job Overview & Responsibilities
The Global Trade Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting all facets of our operations to ensure strict compliance with U.S. Government export/import laws and regulations. You will need to possess the expertise to interpret and apply U.S. law, contributing effectively to ULA's compliance program while providing accurate guidance throughout the organization. This position is integral to all areas of ULA's business, including public release assessments, management of export authorities, jurisdictional analyses, and licensing decisions.
The Specialist must have the technical skill and experience to understand complex technical documents, papers, presentations, and proposed export scenarios to provide precise compliance guidance. You will also deliver effective training on regulatory compliance limitations tied to ULA export authorities, simplifying complex concepts into clear, understandable requirements. Your role includes balancing compliance enforcement with enabling the business to progress by offering clear and actionable guidance.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree
Required Years of Experience
A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Extensive knowledge of U.S. Government (USG) export/import laws and regulations
Proven ability to interpret and execute an export/import compliance program
Experience in analyzing complex technical documents and providing accurate compliance guidance
Skilled in translating intricate concepts into understandable regulatory requirements
Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
Proficient in clear and concise writing
Dependable and trustworthy
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering background related to U.S. Munitions List (USML) items preferred
Engineering degree preferred (Manufacturing, Design)
