We are seeking a Student Intern to support our Human Resources Team at our Headquarters office!

We will begin interviewing for Summer and Fall starting in April.

Must be enrolled in a college/university and internship hours are required for graduation or completion of a course.

This is an unpaid Internship.

Performs a wide variety of administrative and HR-related tasks, including but not limited to, assisting with coordinating events for the agency, creating job fair & training packets, provide support for training and development across the agency, assisting with benefits open enrollment and providing support to other HR team members, as needed.

ESSENTIAL INTERNSHIP FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist HR Generalists with employee reference checks, new hire orientation, document retrieval, filing, and organizing.
  • Assist with coordinating agency wide events including career fairs, benefits open enrollment, and staff development
  • Assist with employee recognition event.
  • Assist the Human Resources Training Manager with the Learning Management system, evaluate surveys, research diverse and equitable training opportunities, and coordination of training.
  • Assisting the Human Resources Specialist with digitizing the file room
  • Assist the HR Department with projects and task including but not limited to information systems, processes, trainings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned that are department or program related.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled or attending an accredited college
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be willing to learn the primary functions of a Human Resources Department
  • Effective time management skills and ability to complete given tasks
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use good judgment, work well under pressure, adapt to change, and work collaboratively with individuals from all culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated, team and goal-oriented individual with the ability to drive results.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.

    TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Personal vehicle not required. Travel between sites not required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the essential duties of this job, the intern is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The intern is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
