Join our team as a Landscape Mechanic, where your expertise will ensure the reliable operation of a wide range of automotive, small engine, and heavy-duty landscape equipment. You'll inspect, repair, and maintain everything from trucks and trenchers to compressors and tractors-keeping our operations moving and our team safe and successful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair defects in a variety of equipment using tools such as motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and manuals
  • Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, clutches, pumps, power units, and generators
  • Adjust brakes, align wheels, and perform critical reassembly of mechanical components
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, battery checks, tire repair, and lubrication
  • Operate and test equipment to ensure functionality after repairs
  • Maintain and repair water trucks, trenchers, pipe-laying machines, and related equipment
  • Prepare equipment for storage and maintain spare units in working condition
  • Respond to service or emergency road calls when required
  • Transport or pick up parts as needed
Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience with automotive, heavy equipment, or small engine repair
  • Or, equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience
Technical Proficiency
  • Ability to analyze mechanical issues, read schematics, blueprints, and factory manuals
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment such as torque wrenches, grinders, compressors, welders, and diagnostic devices
  • Comfortable operating both power and manual tools for precision repair
Reasoning & Problem Solving
  • Strong decision-making skills using real-time data, diagnostics, and experience
  • Ability to interpret verbal, written, and diagram-based instructions
Communication
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of documenting repairs and maintenance records accurately
Physical & Sensory Demands
  • Medium physical workload: lifting 20-50 lbs occasionally, frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Requires fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual precision
  • Work environment includes exposure to loud noise and outdoor elements

Proficient with:
  • Arbor press, grinders, riveters, torque wrenches, soldering tools
  • Welding equipment, compressors, manual and power saws
  • Diagnostic and measuring instruments, mechanical blueprints, and templates

  • Maintains standards of excellence with minimal supervision

  • Coordination: Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for detailed repair work
