Position Description:

The IT Support Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Company's systems and infrastructure. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role involves providing technical assistance and support to employees across various departments. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for devices like manufacturing equipment, desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining employee workstations and required software.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on software updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate IT equipment inventory records.
  • Aid in onboarding by setting up accounts, email, and permissions.
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
  • Document IT processes and procedures, creating knowledge base articles.
  • Assist in managing network infrastructure, switches, routers, and more.
  • Support audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
  • Proactively identify and escalate potential IT issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies for continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Strong understanding of IT fundamentals (hardware, software, networking) with growing knowledge in cybersecurity and compliance.
  • Familiarity with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, or other cybersecurity frameworks (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, access control, and system hardening.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Microsoft Security Administrator Associate (or willingness to obtain) are a plus.
  • 2-4 years of prior IT support and customer service experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move computer equipment and peripherals.
  • Comfortable working in various environments.
