About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Development Assistant Dean for the School of Public Affairs. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our fundraising initiatives, focusing on securing major gifts to reinforce our top strategic priorities. Collaborating closely with the University Advancement team and the Dean, you will play an instrumental part in crafting and executing fundraising strategies that resonate with our academic mission.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of major gift prospects.
Leading cultivation and solicitation efforts effectively.
Ensuring that the school's fundraising goals are consistently met.
Supervising and guiding a small, dedicated development team.
Representing the school to alumni, donors, and other key supporters.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's degree.
A minimum of 7 years of impactful fundraising experience.
A proven history of closing major gifts.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience in staff management.
Strong attention to detail.
Your background in higher education fundraising, coupled with your experience working with senior leaders and donor databases, will set you apart. You will collaborate with the Dean on fundraising strategy, manage the Dean's Council, and oversee the team's outreach and stewardship activities.
This role will require you to travel occasionally and may involve evening and weekend work as needed.
