About the Position The GIS Database Administrator Sr. is responsible for industry standard geospatial databases and ensuring the integrity of the County's geospatial data infrastructure. In addition, this position researches, designs and develops data warehouses and extract, transform, load (ETL) processes. We Require Four years of related professional level experience involving geospatial database, design, development and administration on an enterprise database management system (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems or a closely related field

A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value Experience building and maintaining ETL processes using industry-standard tools such as Python, FME, Talend or SSIS

Knowledge of the full stack of Esri ArcGIS Technology including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online with focus on Geodatabases

Job Contributions Design, build, implement, and administer spatial and non-spatial databases

Manage enterprise geodatabases to support versioning, archiving and multi-user editing

Develop and administer automated Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) routines using custom scripts and/or COTS products

Develop SQL and/or Python scripts for data processing, analysis and/or reporting

Develop and implement SQL Server stored procedures, functions and triggers when necessary

Assist with developing and administering hosted map and feature services using ArcGIS Enterprise

Implement best practices for SQL Server resource utilization, high-availability and disaster recovery

Ability to obtain Esri certifications related to database management and system administration; Microsoft certifications related to data management

Maintain a repository of technical documentation and GIS metadata

Working Conditions Hybrid teleworking schedule is available for high performers

Work requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities

Travel to and from job-related locations may be required, subject to county policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on county business

Some work may be performed after regular business hours on weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed

Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time

Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
