Overview
The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) is modernizing its technology environment to improve efficiency, integration, and reporting across critical systems. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the enterprise platform environment, ensuring high-quality data integration, governance, and system performance. The role will provide technical expertise in Oracle and SQL database, system integration, Linux-based automation. Responsibilities
Design and maintain integration pipelines to consolidate data and processes across multiple systems (Oracle database, SQL Server, and others). Re-platform and modernize existing workloads into a scalable enterprise environment. Implement reusable frameworks for automation (full, incremental, CDC). Build and maintain layered environments (staging, refined, curated) to support system reliability and consistency. Build and maintain cross-system and data integration for unified information access across AGE managed applications. Apply validation rules, quality checks, and access controls to ensure reliable outcomes. Support metadata management including dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation. Enforce retention and lifecycle management policies. Manage and configure Linux server environments used for platform operations. Create, schedule, and maintain cron jobs for automated processes. Develop Python and SQL scripts for system tasks, file handling, and process automation. Monitor and troubleshoot system processes, logs, and file transfers. Implement monitoring, logging, and orchestration for automated processes. Provide DevOps support including version control, rollback, and deployment automation. Troubleshoot and optimize performance across system integrations, queries, and workflows. Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, system integration, or enterprise technology environments. Public sector or healthcare IT experience is preferred. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (19 C) including PL/SQL and performance optimization. Proficiency in system integration and ETL/ELT frameworks such as SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), or equivalent. Knowledge of governance practices: validation, access controls, and metadata management. Proficiency with Linux server environments. Solid working experience in writing cron jobs. Solid working experience in Python scripts. Solid working experience in SQL Scripts. Troubleshooting Linux-based file transfers and system processes. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams across all levels of the organization. Working knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
