Girdwood, Alaska . What You’ll Do: As an
Events Manager , you’ll lead the charge in creating unforgettable experiences that set the standard for Alaska’s premier destination. From planning to execution, you’ll ensure flawless events that delight guests, strengthen client relationships, and drive resort-wide revenue. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for hospitality, you’ll turn vision into reality. Your Responsibilities Will Include
Event Planning & Execution: Manage all aspects of event planning, including detailed event orders, menus, billing, timelines, and logistical requirements. Oversee setup, execution, and teardown to ensure seamless and efficient operations. Client Liaison & Experience: Serve as the primary on-property contact for clients, ensuring expectations are met and concerns are addressed promptly. Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings with clients and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement. Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments—including banquets, culinary, front desk, spa, and mountain operations—to ensure timely communication and flawless execution of event details. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment, décor, and other specialized needs. Financial Oversight: Monitor group billing accounts for accuracy, reconcile charges, and coordinate with the accounting team as needed. Track post-event feedback and prepare reports to identify areas for growth and improvement. Sales & Revenue Growth: Actively upsell resort offerings such as spa services, lift/tram tickets, and food & beverage enhancements to maximize revenue opportunities. Support the sales process by preparing proposals, contributing to contracts, and participating in site inspections with prospective clients. Operational Communication: Attend weekly BEO and resume meetings with key stakeholders to ensure all event details are shared, understood, and executed properly. Knowledge & Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of Alyeska Resort facilities, Mountain Operations, Nordic Spa, and all amenities. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, fire and evacuation procedures, and workplace health standards. Team Support & Additional Duties: Provide additional support to the Sales & Events team as required, including assistance with Alyeska’s special events programming. Contribute to the overall success of the resort’s event operations. Perform other duties as assigned. What We Offer

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality, marketing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel, food & beverage, or event management; prior experience in group sales, catering, or hospitality strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; proficiency in Opera Sales & Event Management (OSEM), Social Tables, and Canva preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to manage internal teams, clients, and vendors. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking initiative to solve problems and seize opportunities. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects, deadlines, and priorities efficiently. Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail for budgets, billing, reporting, and post-event evaluation. Must be adaptable, maintaining a positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Passion for creating extraordinary experiences for clients and attendees, with a commitment to excellence in event execution. What To Expect
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Work in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment. Adapt to seasonal changes around the resort and special events. Physical demands:
This position primarily involves standard office work, including sitting for extended periods, using a computer, and performing tasks such as typing, writing, and phone communication. Capable of occasional lifting, up to 25 pounds, as well as tasks involving bending, stooping, walking, and standing for extended periods. Work Environment:
This is an onsite position based at Alyeska Resort. Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm AKST, though the role may require extended hours and weekends to accommodate peak business periods. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced guest-centric company, you will maintain a high level of interaction with staff, guests, and stakeholders. About Alyeska Resort
