Job Description Summary The role of Bill of Characteristics (BoC) Lead Design Engineer involves representing design engineering in creating and incorporating the BoC with quality control plans for the shop floor. You will work in a cross-functional BoC team to issue BoCs via CID and implement them on the shop floor through completion of First Article Inspections (FAI). BoC aims to improve quality outcomes by reducing quality escapes across the Aerospace business. You will provide design expertise while creating and incorporating a part-specific BoC. Responsibilities
Validating the BoC (Bill of Characteristics) and CNs (Characteristic Numbers) on the face of the drawing Escalating BoC conflicts to the BoC Leadership Team Initiating BoC CIDs and progressing them through the Change Assessment Process Upload of BoC to the design change system Obtaining Design Change Approvals and updating as required based on approver feedback Supporting supplier and shop quality in BoC incorporation on the shop floor, which may include: Creation of DFMEA/PFMEA Creation of control plans Incorporating the Characteristic list into inspection planning Collecting Delta FAI data Qualifications
Required
– Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years quality, manufacturing, engineering, project or supply chain experience) plus a minimum of 3 years in quality, manufacturing, engineering, project or supply chain experience
This is a Hybrid position and requires onsite work at a GE Aerospace facility (e.g., Lynn / Evendale) for 2-3 days/week

The base pay range for this position is $98,300 - $163,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education and skill set. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary and plan. This posting is expected to close on July 15, 2025.
