This role demands a balance of leadership skills and technical proficiency in Solidworks, with a 50/50 split between managing the engineering team and contributing to design efforts. Responsibilities: Managing and creating accurate 3D models and comprehensive 2D drawings of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Manage a team of engineers to develop production-ready drawing packages and ensure they meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards. Collaborating with the Manufacturing team to develop innovative design solutions and enhance existing designs through value engineering. Coordinating and overseeing the work of project teams, including engineers, technicians, and other professionals. Ensuring product designs comply with engineering drawing standards (ISO/ANSI) and are tailored for manufacturability, including complete tolerance schemes in SI units. Enhance and manage a comprehensive revision control system to ensure all documentation is current and accurate throughout the product lifecycle. Supervise the systematic assignment of part numbers to facilitate organized inventory and project management. Leverage expertise in sheet metal design, electronic packaging, material selection, reliability assessment, mechanism design, instrument design, and automation to elevate product performance and functionality. Develop electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wire harnesses to integrate mechanical and electrical components seamlessly. Design test equipment and tools to facilitate comprehensive testing and validation processes. Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and specify component details for accurate procurement and assembly procedures. Conduct FEA analysis to ensure the reliability and safety of designs. Prepare DFMEA and FMEA reports to identify and mitigate potential risks in the design and manufacturing processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering fields. Minimum of ten years of work experience in a relevant engineering domain and 5+ years in a managerial role. Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D CAD modeling, simulation, and data management. A deep understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles and practices. Familiarity with engineering drawing standards (ISO/ANSI) and tolerance analysis. Expertise in sheet metal design, electronic packaging, mechanism design, and automation. Experience in creating electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wire harnesses. Proficiency in test equipment and tool design. Proven experience in project management with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering projects from conception to completion.
