Responsibilities

Formulate technical strategy responsive to the Institute’s needs with a forward-leaning view of technology impacting research funding and institutional resources.

Plan and create a long-range vision and executable program for strategic research, digital learning, and enterprise innovation, including cyber-infrastructure strategy.

Create and oversee the Enterprise Innovation Center.

Enhance the Georgia Tech regional and national brand with current and future constituents in academia, government, and the private sector at relevant events.

Support the department vice president in programmatic, financial, technical, and business reviews of proposed and funded projects and initiatives that advance the strategic research vision.

Present research directions and technical overviews at professional and technical meetings.

Identify opportunities for technical integration among initiatives across technology, research, and academic portfolios across colleges.

Provide leadership and management of technology teams, staying current with knowledge and application development.

Act as a liaison between enterprise information technology and Georgia Tech researchers and faculty.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or combination of education and experience.

Experience 10 or more years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Experience 15+ years of job-related experience and R-1 academic experience; experience supporting AI infrastructure and AI supercomputing initiatives; ability to design and implement compliant research computing infrastructure and bridge academic and research computing across campus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge of research cyber infrastructure and familiarity with cyber missions; experience managing large, complex research IT projects.

Skills Leadership, communication, facilitation, collaboration, program/project management, business analysis; budgeting and resource management; strategic thinking and ability to explain technology in business terms.

Salary: $190,046 - $218,000 dependent on experience and preferred skills
