We are seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Project Coordinator to join our project engineering team within the Food and Dairy Department. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful and timely completion of projects focused on various technologies, with a primary emphasis on Spray Drying. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while maintaining or enhancing profitability through effective engineering design and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in all project phases, from initial customer interactions to pre-award sales support, cost estimation, proposal generation, engineering, commissioning, and start-up.
Ensure adherence to design standards while optimizing engineering designs to meet customer specifications efficiently and effectively.
Proactively address potential technical, schedule, execution, or commercial challenges to fulfill project commitments.
Maintain detailed records of customer communications and keep organized technical files for project document control.
Collaborate with design teams to finalize General Arrangement and Hole and Load Drawings.
Create and uphold utility lists and equipment tag lists.
Specify and size components such as valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
Generate technical specifications for the design department and participate in design reviews.
Evaluate and approve design revisions, specifications, and drawing releases.
Coordinate equipment shipment logistics to project sites.
Support mechanical punch-list item resolutions during installation phases.
Conduct input/output (I/O) and mechanical checks on installed equipment on-site.
Assist with training maintenance and operators during project start-up at customer locations.
Complete engineering and commissioning tasks as per industry standards, customer requirements, and compliance regulations.
Utilize defined tools and documentation throughout all project phases diligently.
Collaborate closely with the project manager to enhance project planning and execution strategies.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project deliverables that meet customer needs and technical requirements.
Provide technical support in troubleshooting equipment/system performance issues for customers.
Assist in formulating and implementing test procedures, commissioning plans, and site acceptance criteria.
Actively support the project manager in identifying scope changes and preparing cost/schedule impact estimates.
Create request documents for quotations and assist in vendor evaluations and management.
Be compliant with government regulations and industry standards, particularly in safety and environmental practices.
Contribute to the preparation of Operations & Maintenance manuals and Spare Parts Lists.
Possibly assume the Project Manager role for selected projects.
Generate precise utility, instrumentation, and motor location drawings.
Support project planning and execution strategy development with the project manager.
Present technical and project progress updates to management and customers when necessary.
Develop schedules to meet project milestones efficiently.
Complete assigned duties promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
Familiarity with US Dairy industry standards (3A, USDA) is preferred.
Experience in interpreting fabrication drawings and blueprints is a plus.
Able to work independently while managing tasks and collaboration with minimal supervision.
Willingness to travel up to 50% (averaging around 25%).
The typical base pay range for this position starts at $80,000 and can go up to $120,000 per year. Various factors such as experience, location, and qualifications will influence final offers. You may also be eligible for additional incentives such as bonuses and equity awards.
