Overview

Management Analyst II - Homelessness at the City of Redwood City. Location: 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, 94063. The City of Redwood City invites applications for the position of Management Analyst II - Homelessness. This role supports the City’s homelessness initiatives, works with City leadership to design and implement strategies, and contributes to the City’s efforts on homelessness, including programs such as the Downtown Streets Team and related policies. Responsibilities

Support the Assistant City Manager or their designee with financial oversight and analysis of the $3.5 million annual budget for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives. Comply with state, county, and private grant requirements, including cost allocations and documentation of Homelessness Initiatives Program expenditures by contracted service providers; strengthen reporting systems. Manage grants from inception through close out, ensuring best practices and spend-down maximization. Create annual budgets and budgets for proposals; complete budget modifications; monitor actual expenditures versus budget. Prepare grant invoices and financial reports. Prepare financial reports for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives. Monitor and track budget, revenue, and expenditures for Homelessness Initiatives within the City’s financial system and with the City’s Finance Staff. Develop cost/benefit analyses of the City’s Homelessness Initiatives investments in relation to ongoing costs of mitigation. Draft staff reports and other written materials. Ideal Candidate / Qualifications

Highly motivated to support the City’s homelessness initiatives; capable of working on policies, programs, partnerships, and projects related to the anti-camping ordinance. Advanced experience with financial management—developing, implementing, and managing budgets and reporting systems for government and philanthropic grants and contracts. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and summarize complex information. Self-directed, initiative-driven, creative, and able to exercise independent judgment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture. Solid business acumen and related technical skills; a team player who collaborates with City staff and the public. The Management Analyst will report directly to the Assistant City Manager or their designee. Benefits
