Position Highlights

Planning & Operations Phoenix is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping-Receiving & Events Assistant to support operations at the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building (BSPB) dock. This position plays a key role in the daily coordination of shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, and delivering packages and supplies across multiple buildings at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC). In addition to distribution duties, this role also assists with event logistics and coordination to ensure smooth execution of campus events. click here . Duties & Responsibilities Handles and maintains flow of packages at the loading dock. Checks loading dock for trash and cleans up area. Greets every driver that comes on the dock. Handles delivery of a variety of packages and supplies across campus. Assists with special events coordination and logistics:

Moves tables, chairs, supplies, and sets up room. Helps direct guests as needed. Helps with clean up after the event, such as putting up/storing tables, chairs, etc.

Greets and serves customers in a friendly, courteous manner. Provides suggestions and input to supervisor. Actively solves problems wherever possible. Works harmoniously with co-workers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of campus buildings and locations. Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation. Knowledge of record keeping practices. Knowledge of safety practices. Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment. Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements: Ability to transport/lift a maximum of 50 lbs. Working Environment: Outdoor Environment: Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions. Extreme Heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for more than an hour. Hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals in a work setting. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University

Fleet Safety Policy .

Preferred Qualifications

Prior warehouse/loading dock experience. Experience working on a college/university campus. Special events experience.
