Bioinformatic Data Scientist - Vaccine Summer Fall 2026 Co-op Location:
Waltham, MA The Global Immunology Department in Sanofi, Vaccines R&D organization is seeking a highly motivated and organized Co-op Scientist to join the Early-Stage Immunology group. This position will serve as an integral member of a research team responsible for supporting Immunology and Vaccine research by analyzing complex biological datasets, developing computational models, and discovering insights through statistical and algorithmic techniques. Develop and implement computational pipelines and analytical methods for processing large-scale immunological datasets from vaccine research and development programs. Analyze and interpret complex biological data from various sources including genomic sequencing, proteomics, and immunological assays. Apply programming languages (Python/R), statistical analysis tools, and bioinformatics software to process and analyze high-throughput data. Maintain data quality and reproducibility; establish best practices in computational analysis and documentation standards. Participate in code maintenance and pipeline optimization as required. Perform data visualization, statistical analysis, and documentation through computational notebooks and version control. Present analytical results in project/group meetings and contribute to scientific discussions. May participate in implementing analytical pipelines for pre-clinical immunology groups. Work in a collaborative research environment with training in relevant computational tools, databases, and platforms used in vaccine research and development. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, computer science, or related field with expected degree completion by Spring 2027. Must be enrolled in school the semester following the internship/co-op with Sanofi. Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship. Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future. Basic programming skills in at least one language (Python, R, or similar). Preferred Qualifications: Coursework in statistics, programming, and biological sciences Understanding of biological concepts, particularly in immunology or related fields Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient English language written and verbal skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Why Choose Us?
