Provide EHS leadership for the designated Exact location(s) and drive site objectives in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Operations, Quality) to integrate EHS initiatives into daily operations. Foster an engaged workforce that takes ownership of EHS performance and participates in safety and environmental initiatives. Serve as a subject matter expert on EHS topics, supporting site leadership with insights on regulations, risk management, and best practices. Analyze data from safety incidents, audits, inspections, and employee feedback to identify trends and root causes; recommend corrective actions and monitor performance. Establish, monitor, and report EHS performance metrics; ensure regulatory compliance and timely preparation for inspections and audits. Lead regulatory interactions and act as primary contact during inspections and audits. Lead investigations of workplace incidents and ensure effective corrective actions are taken. Lead risk assessments, job hazard assessments, internal audits, and regulatory audits; collaborate with leadership to set goals based on EHS risks. Lead site training for leaders and lab staff; drive sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental footprint. Oversee development, testing, and maintenance of emergency response plans and real-time response to emergencies in coordination with internal teams and external agencies. Facilitate EHS engagement through established teams and committees to achieve yearly objectives. Provide SME support to Global EHS Programs, including contributing to core team meetings and helping develop global standards, procedures, training, and communications. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (or an Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s). 5+ years of EHS experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale operational environments. Fundamental understanding of applicable OSHA, EPA, DNR, CDC, DOH, CAP, FDA, NY regulations, and CLIA. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of EHS experience in biotech manufacturing, medical device technology, clinical laboratory, or R&D environments. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) encouraged. Experience during periods of rapid business growth and in implementing new processes for diverse employee groups. Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards. Salary and Benefits The position offers a base salary range of
$111,250.00 - $188,750.00
and is bonus eligible. Location referenced is US - CA - Redwood City; salary may differ by location.
