Who We Are: As one of the top interior design firms in our field, we design award-winning model homes, sales offices, and commercial spaces for some of the best home builders in the country. We are a fast paced, highly creative, and innovative company looking for a self-driven, creative mind with a strong desire to grow professionally. In this position you will deal with all phases of design from conceptual design, specifications, FF+E, and installation, while working in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. At Chameleon Design, we love what we do because every day we inspire one another, and we can’t wait for you to inspire us too. This is a full-time position working from our Costa Mesa, CA office.
This is not a hybrid or remote position. Must already be locate in Southern California. Responsibilities
Undertake design projects from concept to completion Plans design assignment by studying client’s request and understanding function of the design Develops design by defining form, features, and attraction; exploring alternative designs; revising designs per client feedback, and handling reselects Create PowerPoints for design presentations Setting costs according to budget Research and decide on materials, finishes, furnishings and fixtures, and products sourcing Work on product finish specifications Shop for retail accessories, bedding, furniture, drapery, artwork Occasionally perform various design tasks, such as running errands and packing accessories for installs Stay current on industry changes, evolutions, and best practices Participating in educational and business development opportunities and attending industry shows as required Requirements
Degree in Interior Design Proven work experience in designing model homes;
3-5 years required Experience with furniture selection, accessories, fabric, paint, lighting, and working knowledge of architectural plans Proficient in PowerPoint, and Excel Proficient with AutoCAD Familiarity with vendors and design centers Excellent portfolio of previous works Creative talent, imagination, professionalism, and eye for design Must be able to multi-task efficiently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Communication and presentation skills Have reliable transportation and a reasonable commute to our office in Costa Mesa, CA This position requires frequent traveling for project installations.
