Director, U.S. Industrials Corporate Banking
We’re building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. This role sits in U.S. Corporate Banking (CB) and focuses on coverage of industrials sector clients in the United States. CB is responsible for originating, structuring, syndicating, and managing investment grade and non-investment grade credit-related products for CIBC’s US corporate clients, and sourcing capital markets activity. CB professionals work closely with Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and Global Derivatives teams to provide financing solutions to clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of U.S. CIT Corporate Banking Group in New York, drive origination of new business opportunities and manage corporate client relationships within U.S. Industrials. Emphasize proactive client engagement, identify capital markets opportunities, and execute complex transactions to support business growth.
How You’ll Succeed
Support origination of new transactions by maintaining an active calling program with senior management of corporate clients. Cultivate and expand capital markets relationships, identifying opportunities to deliver tailored solutions across loans, trade finance, securitization/ABS, DCM, derivatives, and investment banking.
Collaborate with senior bankers to deliver bespoke content to clients related to corporate finance and capital markets activity.
Understand and analyze complex transactions and conduct due diligence.
Be perceived as an expert in corporate finance, applying current concepts in marketing to new clients and managing the existing portfolio.
Guide and mentor junior bankers in analysis of accounts, ensuring high-quality credit applications supported by robust financial, business, and market analysis. Review and refine recommendations on credit applications and risk ratings in line with risk appetite and objectives.
Monitor credit quality and exposure by staying informed on client performance, industry trends, and economic developments. Apply risk rating policies consistently and provide recommendations to maintain a high-quality portfolio.

Excellent organization and time management; adaptable to a fast-changing environment.
Ability to mentor and develop junior members to achieve team objectives.

Salary and benefits The position has an expected salary of $200,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location.
