About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement and Leadership who is committed to enhancing the student journey and fostering an inclusive, supportive campus environment. This pivotal role will oversee a variety of programs, including sorority and fraternity life, leadership development, and the management of over 380 student organizations. The AVC will be a strong advocate for students, actively engaging with their needs to promote a positive campus climate.
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in a relevant field (preferably a doctoral degree) and have at least 7 years of experience in a college or university environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Successful candidates will showcase a proven track record in developing impactful student engagement and leadership initiatives, alongside experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and learning assessment.
A deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness is essential, along with exceptional management and coalition-building skills. The AVC should thrive in complex environments, manage conflicts effectively, and inspire students with a positive, empowering, and solution-oriented approach.
